(a) World Bank - ITC Project: "Empowerment of Rural communities   to export organic spices from India"

This is a project for encouraging production and export of organic spices from rural areas especially produced by the tribal people for their 

socio-economic development.

(b) UNDP project - for export promotion of organic spices 

PDS is also implementing a UNDP project in identified villages of Idukki district for promoting organic cultivation of spices like pepper, ginger, turmeric, clove, nutmeg and cardamom. Parts of these activities are implemented in remote tribal hamlets in forest atmosphere. A spice cleaning cum processing unit is also being set up in the main producing center.
